This calculator is rooted in Jewish Kabbalah, the mystical tradition that grew out of medieval Judaism and treats the Hebrew alphabet as a living map of creation. In the practice known as gematria, every letter carries a numeric value, and the sum of those values is believed to reveal hidden currents of meaning behind a name or a date. Over centuries, rabbis and scholars used these correspondences to meditate on scripture, on personal destiny, and on the relationship between the human soul and the divine.

Here the method is adapted to the Latin alphabet through a simple 1–9 cycle, where A, J and S equal 1, B, K and T equal 2, and so on through I and R, which equal 9. The digits of your birth date are added together and the letters of your full name are converted and summed, then each total is reduced to a single digit. The only exceptions are the master numbers 11, 22 and 33, which are kept intact because the tradition regards them as carrying an especially intense spiritual charge.

People turn to this kind of reading for self-reflection, for journaling, or simply out of curiosity about the symbolism attached to their name and birthday. It is meant as a contemplative and cultural tool rather than a prediction of the future, and it does not replace the guidance of a teacher, a rabbi, or a mental-health professional. Treat the interpretations as prompts for thought, and keep what resonates while leaving the rest aside.
