How Pythagorean numerology works

The life path is not a raw digit sum of the whole date: the day, the month, and the year are each reduced to a core number first (stopping at 11, 22, or 33), those three values are added, and that total is reduced the same way.

Letters follow the Pythagorean map AJS=1 through IR=9 after accents are stripped; Y counts as a vowel only when neither neighboring kept letter is A, E, I, O, or U, and spaces or hyphens do not break that neighborhood.

Master numbers 11, 22, and 33 stay as they are, and a karmic debt is marked only when the still-unreduced total, or the birth day itself, is exactly 13, 14, 16, or 19.
