Overtime and DSR Calculator

Calculate overtime at 50% or more, 100% on Sundays and holidays, night overtime and the paid weekly rest (DSR) reflection for a month in Brazil.

These calculations follow Brazilian labor and tax law (CLT, INSS, IRRF, FGTS) and are valid only for employment contracts in Brazil. Amounts are in Brazilian reais (R$).

Legislation and tables in force on 10/17/2026: 2026 minimum wage, 2026 INSS and IRRF tables and the income tax reduction of Lei 15.270/2025.

This is an estimate for guidance. Collective agreements and individual situations may change the amounts; it does not replace the payslip or advice from an accountant or lawyer.

How the overtime and DSR calculator works

Overtime starts from the hourly rate: the monthly salary, plus salary-type premiums such as hazard or unhealthy-work pay (Súmulas 264, 132 and 139 TST), divided by the monthly divisor. A 44-hour week gives a divisor of 220, which is the weekly hours times 5 (Súmula 431 TST for 40 hours gives 200). EC 141/2026 lowers the limit to 42 hours from about 16/12/2026 and to 40 hours later. Under the same rule the divisors would be 210 and 200, but the method is still being settled, so you choose the weekly hours.

Weekday overtime pays at least 50% more than the normal hour (CF art. 7, XVI and CLT art. 59), and a collective agreement may set a higher premium, which you can type in. Work on Sundays and holidays that is not compensated with another day off is paid double, that is, at 100% (Súmula 146 TST). Each group of hours is multiplied by its own hourly value and rounded to the cent, and the three amounts are added to give the total overtime.

Night work between 22:00 and 05:00 has a 20% premium and a reduced hour of 52 minutes and 30 seconds (CLT art. 73), so 7 clock hours count as 8 paid hours. Night overtime combines both rules: the night hour is the hourly rate times 1.2 and then times the overtime premium (OJ 97 SDI-1). Enter the night overtime in clock hours and the calculator converts them into paid hours.

Habitual overtime also raises the paid weekly rest (DSR, Lei 605/1949). The reflection is the overtime value divided by the business days of the month (Monday to Saturday) and multiplied by the rest days (Sundays and holidays), as in Súmula 172 TST. For overtime since 20/03/2023, the DSR also reflects on vacation, 13th salary, notice and FGTS (OJ 394 SDI-1). Example: salary R$ 3,000.00, 44 hours, 10 hours at 50%, 26 business days and 5 rest days. The hour is R$ 13.64, the overtime R$ 204.55 and the DSR R$ 204.55 ÷ 26 × 5 = R$ 39.34.

Holidays are not detected automatically: the business and rest days start from the current month, so edit them for the month you are calculating. The result is an estimate and does not include banco de horas, commission earners (Súmulas 340 and 397), bank employees or INSS and income tax on the overtime. Legal basis: CF art. 7, XIII and XVI; CLT arts. 58, 59 and 73; Lei 605/1949; Súmulas 146, 172, 264 and 431 TST; OJ 97 and 394 SDI-1; EC 141/2026.
