How Kabbalah Names works

Kabbalistic tradition has always paid attention to the relationship between names, letters and numbers; Hebrew gematria, for example, assigns a value to each letter. In the contemporary popular version, adapted to the Latin alphabet, a person’s name and birth date are converted into numbers that are read as themes of personality and life path. This tool shows your tropical zodiac sign, the number of your birth date and the number of your full name, each with its traditional description.

The letters A to Z follow a cycle from 1 to 9, ignoring accents: 1 (A, J, S), 2 (B, K, T), 3 (C, L, U), 4 (D, M, V), 5 (E, N, W), 6 (F, O, X), 7 (G, P, Y), 8 (H, Q, Z), 9 (I, R). The name number is the sum of the letters, reduced by adding digits until a single digit remains, keeping the master numbers 11, 22 and 33. The birth number adds all the digits of the date and is reduced in the same way. The sign comes from the tropical zodiac dates: Capricorn, for example, runs from 22 December to 19 January.

Example: the name Maria is worth 4 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 1 = 24, which reduces to 2 + 4 = 6. The date 15 January 1990 gives 1 + 5 + 0 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 26, which reduces to 2 + 6 = 8, and falls under Capricorn.
